Faithful Shadow

Faithful Shadow

A Poem by Crowley
"

Sometimes you meet someone and it just clicks....and I'm not talking romantic love.

"

I stood outside, at the edge of your words

Shadow boxing with the depth of your softest thoughts

Gently prying open a door that leads to comfortable breezes and lilac.

You sat on a throne of words unique...indestructible

I couldn't pass....

As chaos made a mess of your locks

I saw only the one that fell across your fateful forehead

Drawing attention to eyes that wept holy water and whiskey

Taking in all who dreamt of living beside arts stream, din and sin

I fall to the middle....

I threw you the keys to the old Ford and said you could drive

But you were tired of making decisions, but sat close beside me

You spoke of a place that cradled the need to talk to the universe

Where all are It, and none are crushed, recognizing only the need

of creative light....

I dream you pass untouched

And I follow in awe as always

Your faithful shadow.

Crowley,
definitely, a major poem for you! It's a nice easy read . . . lots of great images. 3rd stanza is a winner.
Thanks for sharing.

How did I not comment on this before? ...Yes, yes....it was meant for now treasure I know....but it is definitely going into the library because it might be my favorite yet! It left emotions in my throat and a tear in my eye....breathtaking and loving....

Thanks Q!!! There aren't very many you haven't read, but there are a few!!
This is a unique piece in a different style that reads well in a flowing poem filled with 'legend' and wonder and mystique. It seems this woman has a protector.

Thank you so much for the read!!! And it would sees so...
Second and third stanzas here are stand alone killer. "Drawing attention to eyes that wept holy water and whiskey
"You spoke of a place that cradled the need to talk to the universe"

These two lines say it all for me. Solid stuff.
