Road Trip

Road Trip

A Poem by Crowley
"

A poem I wrote to read at the end of the eulogy I did for my dad a couple weeks ago. I will miss him.

"

By day we travel quickly to the banks of the river grand and step lightly, knowing

The fish will be there and you will tell me to watch my damn pole and quit fidgeting

By night we travel carefully and listen to Six Days on the Road, the smell of axle grease overpowering

Home is just around the corner and sleeping in our own bed pulls us ever onward, dozing

In death you travel unencumbered, the days work done and if not, so what

Your shadow lives on and builds bridges that connect the hearts and minds of those left behind

You will miss him my friend, of that I have no doubt.. these words are personal, they are beautiful, and I consider myself privileged to be privy to them... Neville
