Words mean Deja Vu

Words mean Deja Vu

A Poem by Plagued Monumentally
"

The beginning is different from the end. This is mostly about a guy and his relationship with another girl.

"

People pretend to be

who they look to be

but are never actually

who they are.

And when they step up,

someone always

makes a bridge for them

to fall.

There are some things that

you are allowed to change

but some things

are restricted.

A year is like a lifetime

months of change

days of love

minutes of thoughts

and seconds of breathing.

Comparing time

is like comparing yourself

to another person

you will never measure up

no matter what you do

or say.

His love for her

will continue to grow

while the support of me

will only be unofficial.

A human that is a secret

is like covering up

an evil soul.

Competitions always

come to an end,

so when will mine end?

You sound philosophical. I love how you compare certain things that most people wouldn't think about comparing to one another. You make a lot of good points about how life changes and goes on and how there ins't anything we can do about it. I love the last stanza because your so honest about the way you feel towards the situation. You're kind of vague about things but that just adds to the poem. It's almost like you're making it easy for people see what they want to see out of it and make them relate it to their lives. It's great! Stanzas three and five are my favorite, they really called out to me :) thanks for posting

This is a fantastic poem love the flow and felt the word grip me. Just a simple note: The length of these types of poems should be not longer than 6 inches, any longer it becomes distraction. Again very well done. I look forward to reading and reviewing more.

A very deep poem. An awakening to a realization of love that is not totally yours. Beautifully penned.

Hmm, an interesting and thought provoking piece.
Nicely done :)

First 4 lines and the last 8 lines totally got to me. I've always loved pieces where I could read the emotion in it and in this I can feel the wariness and general exhaustion from going through it all.

Stunning words from a soul so young, you speak as if you've been jaded one time too many. Nice work, CC.

Logic in your words. People who live in a false life. True face will come out one day. In the end we must like the person looking back in the mirror. Better to be honest and true to yourself. I like the question at the end of this poem. A excellent poem.

Ah..... but a year can be a blink as well, you never know what a year will hold when certian trials and triumphs are happening around you.
