Trouble Free

Trouble Free

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Relax with music

as it massages

the inner fibers of our brain.

Permitting us to drift

to the edge of fantasy

where there are no shadows

of yesterday

I love the phrase "shadows of yesterday". Although this poem is brief, it really captures the reader and makes us want to think -- savoring the sound of each line, I love the poem the way it is, but I thought it might be improved by keeping the sense of drifting by changing the line "permitting us to drift" to "setting us adrift". It still keeps the same sound, but makes the metaphor work better. Either way, it's a beautiful poem....very evocative

Ah, "no shadows of yesterday." Your poem invites us to a country where we need to go often: music lulling us to relax, worry-free, light as fresh air.

Yes, come to think of it....that's what music does Tony as we loose ourselves
in its pleasure....................."as it massages the inner fibers of our brain"

You've penned your thoughts well in this little piece!

This is too true.. I am attached to my MP3 player. It helps me escape during my crazy work day. Creativity gives the mind the chance to explore and escape the norm and the daily confines. This poem is short, but since I identify with it so well.. I greatly approve! ;p
