Choke me

Choke me

A Poem by Muse

For you
I shut my mouth
choking me slowly now
resisting the urge to shout
suppressing each of my words
snuffing out each little breath
a jaded embrace
For you
I close my eyes
my thoughts withheld
just your feeble little lamb
my abilities for you to despise
no prince charming do I see
just an Antichrist
For you
I plug my ears
blocking each and every lie
 mixing truth with fictional fears
wiping the spit from my eye
deaf and arrogant
egotistical a*s
For you
I hide my hands
fist clasped tightly behind my back
fingers pressed upon my pulsating gland
ready for another truce-less attack
choking me slowly now
in peaceful solitude

I understand this sort of hell intimately~ you bring its raw edges out from the victim who won't be victimized to the vivid forefront~

I was talking to someone about this sort of non relationship nightmare the other day and she had asked why I was accomodating at my own emotional peril~ I told her I wasn't ~I was appeasing~ I said something like this

when you "accomodate" someone it's because you genuinely care about their emotions and mental well being~ when you "appease" someone it's to shut their whiny f***ing mouth the f*** up already~ =)~

these mental vampires abound~ and you gotta have some extremely strong reserves to survive their merciless canines~

powerful with impact~ perfectly described~

Wow the power in some of the lines.... touchingly beautiful even though it tells of pain

Wow that scene is being played out in many house tonight. Yet the way you describe it is new and fresh to me esp. the last two lines. They suggest to me that death of love given and the beginning of indifference.

What a lovely read

nice work...is this the repetitive cycle of society where one is held back, choked by another with their abusive hold, and the only answer is to stand and take it, I bet this is kind of how all those women feel in the Middle East, I just can't understand how this abuse is still part of this world, it would be a better world, life, society if this abuse didn't exist...

exceptional work...

You made me root for you, go ahead, hit him! I think you did what you said you like to do. The poem had this affect on me, because of the bold print and the bold notion expressed. Very graphic, no trouble visualizing this picture.

Incredible that this form of relationship still exists in this day and age. Even though I see it on a daily basis, this poem paints a perfect picture of the actuality. Howvever it does it with graceful, wonderfully paced language and phraseology that it leaves me awed. It is an accurateley beutifully auful representation of reality

You have a talent that I am jealous of! lol

This poem is great for the feelings being described. The way you so freely speak is like your singing a song to others to hear. I love it completely in a way I have never loved poetry and I mean this! Many would say the same thing but I'm not! Brilliant!
