Alphalogos

A poem from about 30 years ago, digging through my archives, lol.

Alphalogos

Eternal void engulfed in nothingness.

Trapped by non-existent bonds,

Boundlessness surrendered to nothingness,

Absolute void is entranced in blackness.

Slowly, the circles entwine.

Finite light shines in infinite emptiness,

Expanding ever faster,

The light captures every corner of the darkness.

Pure and bright be the infinite.

In the infinite light, loam explodes.

Simplicity twists into a complexity.

Death breeds life.

Still entangled and imprisoned in leaden bonds,

Life spawns ultimate death.

The heavy bars break.

Finite blackness hides in the glaring light.

Splinters of light flitter through the gray,

The fallen sneers at the broken splinters,

It is surrendered but no longer trapped.

Although this does have a level of science I don't understand, it reminds me of the talks a friend and I have had about what happens in meditation sometimes- a trip into the void where we are held in empty space that is both nothingness and the possibility of everything on the brink of creation. When my friend meditates, he does not "see" anything, but feels held in a dark, empty space that is expansive and peaceful. Instead, I have experienced flashes of lightning-like criss-crossing patterns and sometimes a burst from complete womb-like darkness to a void filled with light that is indescribable. In it, there is no life and death- the two seemed merged- or happening at the same time- can't really explain this. Your poem brings me back to those meditations and reminds me how the metaphysical and science are parallel descriptions of the same reality. Thank you for such a beautiful, complex write that brings these experiences back to me.

This poem does have a lot in it. Metaphysics, physics, meditation, belief system references that fit main stream and so on. I just could not figure how to put in the kitchen sink. I am glad you enjoyed it, and I always look forward to your reviews.

Thank you for reading and reviewing it. This is a very straight-forward astrophysics and metaphysics writing with no metaphors. I wrote it when I was in my twenties. I had just finished reading a number of books on quantum mechanics, metaphysics, etc.. I agree this piece is good; however, I like my layered poems more myself.

Extra ordinary depiction of the oxymoronic nature of existence. And only answer for all this is Pure Consciousness which is "natureless". All came from Thy and all moving into Thy. I simply loved it.

The complexity is the best part, it's refreshing to see logic and creativity merge to create such a complex poem. Most people I know don't think that you can have both, you prove them wrong. As an aspiring economist and lover of math, I can appreciate this work for the beauty it poses both scientifically, and poetically and I'm 100% certain many others do too.
