interesting and encouraging side note here. darcy told me about a conversation she had with her daughter. apparently my son and her had been discussing the fact that his daddy had died. what could have been a scary conversation between two children turned out to be very matter of fact. it was too bad that my son had lost his daddy but he had bunches of uncles.

what a simple, sweet way to accept something an adult would cringe at. it made me very proud of my son for his simple acceptance of what happened and very proud of my little niece who was obviously very concerned about her big cousin but just as ready to accept life as it happens.

so much to learn from children. they are truly amazing. they really do understand loss and they see sadness but they are so ready to look for a positive. amazing kiddos. amazing :)
