Block of Ice(landicblue)

Block of Ice(landicblue)

A Poem by icelandicblue
"

I shall name no names! Really??

"
You blocked me,
yet we never exchanged a word
You blocked me,
now don't you feel absurd?

You silly little man
What did I do to you?
Have your tender sensibilities
given me my due?

Don't be such a baby
don't be such a child.
Have I breached your boundaries-
am I just too wild?

I think it's your misogyny
and your ego too.
I never liked your poetry
nor your rigid rules.

So now I bid you fair adieu
in a bit more formal way,
and to tell you I don't miss you
now that you've gone away.

Ha! I know, right? This only confirms my suspicions that the WC is an experiment run by behavioral psychiatrists. I imagine the conversation went thusly: "Dr. Smart, why don't we create a website where only the most narcissistic people will join, and by this I of course mean amateur writers, give them free reign to post their own work, which, of course they think is brilliant, and then allow other writers, who feel they are brilliant, free access to critique any published work they choose."

"Will there be rules, Dr. Brain?"

"Yes, but they will not be adhered to. I'm surprised you would ask, Dr. Smart."

"Well, Dr. Brain, I think it's an excellent idea for an experiment...we'll call it...Writer's Coffee Corner."

"How on earth did you even get through medical school, Dr. Smart. Clearly we should call it WritersCafe. Honestly, I wonder why I chose you as my research partner."

"Out of interest, Dr. Brain...are you an amateur writer?"

"Why yes, Dr. Smart...yes I am..."

Aaaaaaaaaand...scene.

I'm almost positive that's what's going on here. If I mysteriously disappear, have the police question the Smart-Brain Group xD

Great piece, blue. I, personally, find you delightful and would never dream of blocking you.

From what I understand they thought I was friends with someone they considered an enemy. Go figure!
It has been my experience that a "Block" button is a tool for the immature among us to avoid an adult stance with others. Well written!

So true, thanks.
Now let's be honest. While reading the first stanza, I thought this is by some naive poet, but when I saw your name, I knew there must be some meaning to the childish innocence of the poem. Yet the first two lines sent a chill down my spine - OCD, perhaps. I really think that the first letter in the second line should be BUT, because yet makes no sense. As the poem advanced, words like "silly, little man", made me think the poem has the teenage's desperateness. However, the last stanza gives a pure adult hint. So, a total game with my psychology. Though, your poem is nice and compact, I don't think this is your best work, I have read much better works of yours. :-)

haha, i've also been blocked by some people i don't even know. But i don't think it's really something to worry about. For one thing, wc is giving the blocking option so i think people have the right to use it for their own reason. For another, i think it's their own loss, they'll be losing good readers, and reviewers, and well...friends.

I agree, that is why this was done with humor; I find it amusing at best.

; )
Nicely said. I think we all can relate with the sentiment here. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed this a great deal.

HiYa-

All for fun, thanks for reading.
I LOVE IT! How often do we reject what is unfamiliar simply becuase, we can, we don't have time, we don't want to, or any other stupid form of rejection? Cause let's face it...it is rejection in its finest form. And it's stupid. How can you reject someone or something that you dont know? Wonderful write up!

Good write very captivating. I was blocked before by a writer and I asked her in the thread why she had blocked me, she reply that she don't have idea how it goes. So sometimes it is purely a mistakes, for my side I reach out so I get the honest answer :) Love this piece.
