A Dying King

A Dying King

A Poem by idiotproof--1

made for a contest. I usually don't do rhyming so hopefully it's okay.

"

Once again I was left alone

abandoned into darkness

I'm not ready for the fate that I've sewn

I've been sitting here on my own

dropped into the abyss

once again I was left alone

drowning out all the emotions I've ever shown

there's not a soul that I will miss

I'm not ready for the fate that I've sewn

all I wanted was to go home

I never asked for all of this

once again I was left alone

now I'm by myself on the thrown

I'll dissapear without a first kiss

I'm not ready for the fate that I've sewn

the clock says I'll be gone at the last tone

fading away is supposed to be bliss

once again I was left alone

I'm not ready for the fate that I've sewn

This is a really interesting piece. It reminds me of a contest one I wrote ... 7 years ago... whoa sorry longer than I thought. Anyway, you did a great job getting the idea onto the page and I love your repetition of "Sewn" it not only creates an image, but it continually solidifies that image.

Nicely written!
