Angels Without Wings

Angels Without Wings

A Poem by idiotproof--1

A thousand voices plead for death

we are broken and forgotten

we are the imperfect ones

the ones no one wanted

thousands of us cry out for love

together in our sorrow

but still alone

we are the ones who were thrown away

the hurt ones

the lonely ones

we want to be wanted

we are angels without wings

vampires without fangs

gods without power

we are the abandoned

and forsaken

Nice use of myth and tale. Godless creatures finding hell or dead-end. I like the flow of thoughts leading to solid ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Very poignant imagery in this poem! The first line is especially powerful. You do a beautiful job of expressing the paradox of solidarity and aloneness in the shared experience of human brokenness. Just one suggestion - I believe it's supposed to be "Angels" in the title, not "Angles". You'd be surprised how often that shows up on this site. :) Overall, very nicely written poem. Great work!
