A Tanka Poem

   

                       Magical Springtime 

               Burst into humid Summer

                Autumn becomes cool

               Winter plays a freeze tag game

I like your visuals, though I think you should revisit lines 3 & 4. Tanka is 5,7,5,7,7 in true form. 31 syllables total. Lose one on line three. Add one to line four. Also...."Autumn". Sorry for the nitpick. Enjoyed it otherwise.

I am enjoying. And the turn of the seasons too. You complete the cycle and finish with Earth's muse herself. Is this a form I'm not familiar with like haiku or senryu? A Kathysu?

I like the Tanka too. Cherrie and I just did a collaboration called Somanka. One poet writes a Tanka and the other answers. That simple. On her page 'Falling Petals'. If you like collaborating I can't get enough. We could do a Renga. Cherrie and I did one and that's fun. Haiku and the other does a couplet. Or regular Choka. JE Falcon and Cherrie and I have done those. 'Rails End' is good. Our Renga is pretty good too. 'A Month of Seasons'. Write a Tanka and message it to me. Never know what you might get back...
