Unrequited

Unrequited

A Poem by Ksenia Kazantseva
"

conversations with her pen - (inspired by Jada)

"

I’ve heard you’ve been speaking about me.

I’m flattered, truly.

I didn’t think you cared to recollect who I was.

“I’ll never forget”

I guess it was more the words you used.

To describe the crevices in my figure,

The ridges and dips.

I mean...

The meaning of my tattoos,

the places you’ve kissed?

“I guess I just want to spend a day with you...”

And what would we do?

Licking your lips, I assume what you missed.

“I just want to see you”

I believed you, now why am I leaving yours past two?

Who am I and why can't I just dispose of you.

You missed my body, I missed your presence.

There was a clear disconnect in our intentions.

Now I’m making notes.

Future life lessons.

i love the analogy here...the relationship with the pen, similar to the relationship with another human...
disconnect because intentions are misconstrued...the different reasons for picking up again...best line "the meanings of my tattoos" that works so well...art on the body as well as the writing art...
what does it all mean?

really good piece here.
