Amaryllis

Amaryllis

A Poem by Ksenia Kazantseva
"

always in divine timing

"
I approach the garden timidly

I'm late

Flowers are already blossoming, the vibrant colours competing
filling spaces through the green

So crowded and plentiful.

I sigh,

There’s no room for another seed

I must hurry for her next time.

I walk past the rows of life gently waving my hand through the petals

So beautiful and plentiful.

The softness grazing my fingertips
gently saying hello

Yet I notice there’s nothing like mine.

She would add such character to an otherwise boring, yet beautiful display

I’ve seen her angelic nature

a vision,

in her most natural form.

It would be a mistake to not let her come alive

I push the other cozying colours to the side and dig in

A small space but enough for her growth.

I return in a season, hoping to find my beauty has survived

I glance at the back,

So unique and plentiful.

She stands alone
