Feeling Uninspired

Feeling Uninspired

A Poem by InkBlack
"

This is basically a poem about being inspired about being uninspired

"

I’m sitting in my desk

Hot chocolate by the papers

Cat in my lap

Pencil in hand

Everything feels complete

But when the pencil tip hits the paper, nothing happens

Only a tiny black dot covers the massive white paper

I look out my window at the outdoor scene

Pet my cat

Watch television

Listen to music A

nd read, yet I cannot come up with a single idea

I see the iridescence of my vibrant new green coat

I feel the caress of my cat’s whiskers brush my face

And I love the sound of a hobo’s acoustic guitar

But I cannot write the intense emotions down

Writer’s block is restraining my hand from creative movement like a crippling disease

And I feel as if it cannot be cured

I despise having no inspiration and when I cannot find the words to describe the beauty of a field of red roses

Eradicate the paralysis from my brain to my fingers and let the words flow again
