November Walks

November Walks

A Poem by MCS

Days start dark as pitch

fallen Birch leaves

crunch under foot

Whiff of leave mould

distant cry of a bird

hours before sunrise

The patter of rain

earthy scents released

steps quicken

'November Wlaks'
MCS,
The depth of very early morning does have a uniqueness all it's own. I felt the lonely but appreciated solitude in this poem. It's to the point catching of the moments of birch leaves underfoot and a lone bird's cry and then the need to get inside and be warm. Beautifully done.
Blessings,
Kathy

i enjoy descriptive poetry about nature a lot. i liked the way you captured an autumn day, the light, the slow onset of winter, the sounds. very lovely.
