Venia

Venia

A Poem by MCS

I wish to write no more

about longing, sadness

death or crushing

grief

I pen words on bits of paper

sending tearful shivering

thoughts out into the

universe

I purge these words

from my battered soul

because I cannot hold them in

anymore

I worry about these

sentiments suspended

in the ether toxic as a

plague

I pray for peace, calm

and a reprieve from sadness

if only for a short

while
