Wreckage

Wreckage

A Poem by MCS

Darkness descends

And engulfs the spirit

Who knew the weight of nothingness

Could devour a person

Waiting is a crippling state

Prayers are repetitive sounds

Everyday tilts into the next

Exhaustion is a daily companion

Nothing is like before

Life feels so very different

The past is clear

The present is murky, the future unknown

Now is something completely alien

Working at putting the pieces together

Hoping the darkness gives way to light

Making the path clear out of this madness
