Red Curtains

Red Curtains

A Poem by Isabella
"

Waiting for you to come

"

I was inside the hotel, you weren't around,

the crowd was talking, you made no sound.

Walking around the marvellous jars and high red curtains...

Suddenly I heard somebody called your name.

I was trying to find you in some ways,

I just gave up at the first place:

Inside this greek, red room,

people excitedly came inside,

but they weren't you.

And there I stayed, patiently waiting.

Waiting for you to come.

But at the end I realized that there is no you along the way.

So here I stay,

saying words that cut my throat,

with my blurried view, watching the fire,

patiently waiting,

waiting for you to come.

Now this one establishes you as a talented poet, you definitely did a superb job here... There is touch of melancholy in it that makes the poem very touching and it seems like the poet is wandering about her beloved and waiting for him to come.... Such a sweet work... I can relate to this about a certain time of my life... It has a nice structure and a very good flow too which really makes it beautiful...
