In my head

In my head

A Poem by Jack...
"

Thoughts and dreams and hopes and fears

"

In my head

By Jack Ivey

Collectively lodged deep down in my head

The world it continues to spin

Brilliant colors of satin like thread

Flowing so free in the wind

Windows are opened to places I’ve known

Memories waiting to be

Messages triggered as I walk alone

Ripples on vast empty seas

Mountains to trace on horizons of loss

Fountains of red flowing wine

Caverns of dreams that do come with a cost

Lost in the shadows of time

Scenic endeavors of flowering fields

Love in its picturesque form

Teardrops of pain now so often concealed

Raining from clouds in the storm

Happiness lurks every hallway I take

Rivers of blood I have bled

Collectively lodge way deep down inside

These are the thoughts in my head

All of your pieces flow so effortlessly, Jack, I have to stand back sometimes and remind myself to slow down and take my time with your words. Beautifully written.

It is always my pleasure, Jack...
Sometimes when we evaluate our own lives, we can see how good or poor we are in our past. Our present shows us opportunity to be happy if we welcome the future with our strength and hope. But still we have that fear to face the reality...

Nice poem. A sort of self-reflection :)

Thank you my friend.
The imagery in this is wonderful. Our thoughts do seem to be there constantly, regardless of our efforts to push them away, they just collect deep inside us.
Wonderfully written.

Thanks so much, This was pretty much just a collection of gibberrish, which is usually what you will.. read more
I like very much 'rivers of blood I have bled' and the perceptive way you evaluate your thoughts, the pensive description of inner worlds reminds me of something I wrote years ago and brings back the emotion....It leaves me wondering at what cost come dreams, which is a thought-provoking question to be left with :)

Thank you so very much
I am familiar with the sentiments that you have here Jack. I think that the more we assess our lives the harder we are on ourselves about the outcome. I love the line you used about happiness lurking in every hallway. So often we know the brass ring is there but it eludes us. I think that you have done a masterful job in this poem.
