"

Always

"

Yours

By Jack Ivey

The stars fall around you,

your eyes…

shining with each tiny

kiss glistened dream…

Drinking of the night wind

neath a winter’s moon,

in beauty

that is all of you

Are you calling,

calling out to me…

holding out your hand,

your fingers, soft

as is a new fallen snow?

Following,

following these dreams

in endless desire,

flowering 'fore your eyes.

Tasting of a life,

so magically

painted… longing

to be those desires.

Breathe in the peace

quietly flowing

to take you…

where you now belong

The rush of the wind’s

playfully teasing

scents…

form within my heart.

It is you

who captures my spirit,

grasping tightly

through calm waters,

endless seas

upon which over me

wash.

For I can not wait...
as the darkness whispers;
cantaloupe fears
fill the loneliness
waking within my heart...
take me,
I desire your touch
your taste,
your moonbeam eyes
to find me
as only I can be...

yours

A very nicely written piece. Your metaphors and imagery work very well. Very descriptive writing!

Thank you, I am happy you enjoyed my poem.
To the question to associate a beautiful woman with the moon is very romantic, and actually well placed, as she is the topic of a shining night, with reflections for those who catch/see her. As you're one with her, you're with nature too... it flows just over like the perfect amalgamation here. Your ending gives it the most romantic elusive touch :) so nice, it is a write to my own style, I loved it, thanks Jack... :)

You just can't get it wrong Jack, free verse or rhyme, you've just got a way with words that makes them dance on the page....
