Here I cry

Here I cry

A Poem by Jack...
"

Dedicated to anyone who has lost a best friend...

"

Here I cry

Feathered mist does gather at my waiting

Melodies, now dance about my brain

Found of times the hours are negating

Dreaming of your beauty once again

Feel your touch, my skin it does remember

Softer still, the moonlight in your eyes

Days before, in shadows of September

Breathing comes as lonely filtered sighs

In my dreams, I see we are together

Running free, the wind upon your hair

Soaring high like two birds of a feather

Heavenly, I pray I find you there

Standing here, my eyes they search the meadow

Of the grass now flowing in the view

Silhouettes, my heart it tends to follow

Here I cry, it seems I always do

Some people become a part of you, even after they leave, they remain in our dreams and thoughts. This poem is like a spell that invokes the craving to see the lost friends once again.
Softer still, the moonlight in your eyes
Loved this line, it always haunts, the gleam of their eyes. Beautiful!

Thank you Angi. I truly appreciate you stopping by.
This is one of the few rhyming poems I've actually enjoyed. Bravo!
I think "two birds of a feather" is a little too cliché for the depth of this piece.

Thanks so much Red. I am pleased it touched you.
Loss is something I have never conquered. If I give each instance/person a moment's pause the feeling overwhelms. I can smile and hold those good thoughts and memories, but the loss still lingers.
"Breathing comes as lonely filtered sighs" yes, they do at times...
Wonderful writing, Jack.
I'll catch up here soon. Many RRs, but also taking a little personal time :) hope you've had a good past few weeks.

My pleasure...:)
Loss is a wound that time really doesn't heal completely. Years later, it can still devastate. Such a mournful poem, yet I am touched by the beautiful imagery, and by the idea that in my dream, I may see a much-missed friend.
