Windowsill Weepings

Windowsill Weepings

A Poem by Jack...

Windowsill Weepings

Draped as a curtain of silk disbelief

Tied back emotions lie still on the wall

Blocking the sunlight to pause in relief

Collections of dust form in spite of it all

Streaks hold the fingerprints bound of the day

Smeared in designs of a weakened refrain

Window sill weepings with nothing to say

Magnified teardrops add depth to the pane

Transparent wishes once hidden from view

Wait in the darkness this side of the dawn

Boarded up portals now moistened of dew

Nothing to see ever since you are gone

"add depth to the pane" nice play on words...

we gather dust the more we weep for what we've lost...it keeps us inert, we don't move on...

and that dust can get pretty thick.

Thank you Thomas. Glad you could relate even if the circumstances were not the best.
It's hard to describe the depth of emotional "pane" penned here Jack. While the poem is exceptional, I hope it also helps to both release and relieve your anguish.... haven't seen you post lately hope you are ok ... ~~redzone

Thank you so much.
I'm in 'silk disbelief', I know I read this one, perhaps I dreamt I did a review. As always a charmer on your page Jack, I've sat at that window too many times, those magnified teardrops are killer! Leaving you some special Windex, see it that helps, another one pen'd with emotional impact, affecting read my friend.

Amazing! Very plaintive, and heartrending, yet sweet all the while. You never fail to delight not only my ear, but also my spirit and heart. Very beautiful language. Thank you very much for sharing.
