Loving Murderer

Loving Murderer

A Poem by Lady Scarlet Valuten

It is a dark cold night

The full moon is bright

Fresh snow lies upon the ground

Running footsteps are the only sound

I’m running as fast as I can

But I cannot outrun a deranged man

The forest was dark with winter sleep

It would be the final place where my soul would keep

I turned to face my fate

And was met with eyes of fiery hate

Jealous words were met with determined pleas

I would not give in to his demands

The night would end with my death on his hands

My beloved will be furious when he hears

The end has come to our glorious years

A flash silver a moment of dread

The snow was painted red

His love for me tainted by deadly rage

There I await my true love in my wooded cage

He left my body there on the forest floor

His selfishness cursing him with regret forevermore
