I Hope It Was Worth ItA Poem by Riley BrayI felt it all, inside and out, and when you broke it off, I became a shell with a gaping hole...the piece of me you stole.I felt you forget me But I forgave you. I heard the hurt inside me But at least it healed you. I know you saw my tears But you stood there, amused. I tasted pain and blood But it was because you took it from yourself and gave it to me. I smelled my own sorrow But you stared at me blankly. I reached out to touch you But you shook your head tentatively. I squeaked in pain But you passed by me then. And after time passed and I died inside You survived, triumphant in your success of ridding yourself of me. I hope it all was worth it. © 2013 Riley BrayFeatured Review
