UNDONE

UNDONE

A Poem by Jeana Allen

inner voices screaming
calling out for you to hear
you stay deaf to my pleas
leave me again with this fear

covered in the filth of your world
clawing, screaming, to find my way out
you keep filling me and drilling me
with your scripture of doubt

tell me how high to jump
tell me how far to run
there's no way for this
to all be undone

see how long we can fake this
like we've done for so long
even though we both know
everything here is all wrong

your darkness covers my world
can't find a single place to rest
the end's got to be near
we both should've guessed

tell me how high to jump
tell me it's not just begun
there's no way for this
to all be undone

scream for me
call my name again
make me feel your wrath
let it rise from within

give me another chance
let me escape from your torment
tell me this time
i won't need your consent

tell me how high to jump
tell me how far to run
there's no way for this
to all be undone

tell me how high to jump
tell me it's not just begun
please, god, tell me there's a way
to let all this be undone
