Waiting...

Waiting...

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

my mind is on pause

my heart beating at half speed

each pulse

waiting

listening

for your echo

drawing out the silence

with hopeful anxiety

only resuming normal function

out of neccessity

and even then only

one beat

before returning to

waiting

listening

for your echo

Just another piece of literary sculpture. Finely chiseled. Not a word out of place. You are fast becoming one of my very favorite poets here on WC.

Reminds me of dolphins and lonliness...two things that normally wouldn't be found together, but that is what popped in my head. I know it shouldn't feel lonely but it does, and quiet. I love the sentiment and the great poem trickery you used to get the effect. You always have great poem trickery. Loved it.

the echoe effect is evident...evident in the repetition is the echoe effect

Great sense of dramatic tension in this. Will their be a return we wonder?

I like this, its deep and yet simple, like love or life (is suppose to be).
Well done.
