This Is A Year

this is a year

365 days, each spent without you

a thousand cups of tea unshared

a number matched in

stuttered half thoughts

brought about by the habit of you

and rivalled by the times spent

in nearly tearful silences

where i strain to remember

the exact smoky timbre of your laugh

i'm never entirely certain

which is more surreal

the life i'm living in the after

or the one i had before..


this is a year

and i am out of words

What a great line, I love it
You know I am a fan of your work and I don't mind telling you that this is one of my favourites so far maybe because I have felt like this before (although I was never out of words, out of good words sometimes, but not out of words) or perhaps it's just the delightful way that you have written it,
