The overlord

The overlord

A Poem by jesserose99
"

an old boss

"

He was the overlord of foreclosures

I was his paralegal

he took homes with his bulldozer

his business acumen was less then legal

Take them quick

it will stick

bring more homes in

what's the sin

They can pay?

don't fax that stay

push them through

til your face is blue

we worked all day

then overtime pay

no time left for us

no work was enough

So I left,  I said 'I have a life'

and 'by the way your the antichrist'

he's out there to this day

taking our homes what can I say

So pay your bills my friends

or Hoppster will be there in the end

Very nicely penned. I understand you leaving. I done the same thing when I I realised the faceless corporation of money over people was not only stealing my soul, but like any other entity living off its host, had sucked my soul dry.
I knew it was time to leave when I was waiting to cross the road outside work, when I briefly considered being knocked down so I could stay off work.
Now after a complete career change, im actually enjoying work. (although I still feel the need to complain about it. I dont want them getting any sense of me enjoying work)
In these situations, we put up with a lot, but when we finall decide not to take their BS any more, it is a scary, yet wonderful sense of freedom we feel.
Wonderful, as ever :)

Ah yes, the indomitable spirit of greed, alive and well in today's world. Nicely penned

don't you know it
The man you describe almost sounds like a sociopath. I think you made the right move by leaving. If there's any karma, maybe he'll experience the same thing someday.
