Reverb (part 2 of Re-Echo

A Poem by jex

Reverb

Tapestry,
Downward spiral,
Legs sway down and down

Falling upwards into a black sky

Their eyes are rolling back,
Looking at me,
Locking me in

I’m trapped

I will never go back into that house

Hell’s infinite deities reside,
In the home I once loved,
Waiting for me

I will never return there

As I look up at the sky,
I feel infinitely small

I know now,
I am not safe,
And will never be safe

The land does not hide me,
Nor does the sea,
Or the clouds up high,
From the piercing gaze of my tormentors

They wait,
Lurking
Holding captive my dearest love

She’s screaming,
And I can do nothing to save her

Farewell Delia,
Rest forever

She falls into the black,
As I turn and fade away
