Re-Entry (part 4 of Reverb)

Re-Entry (part 4 of Reverb)

A Poem by jex

If every night you woke up to the same scream,
To the same ghastly wails,
The same deathly screeches,
You would understand

For the longest time,
Everything seemed perfect,
Everyone was happy

Our lives fell apart that day

The day she went into the woods,
And came back hours later,
Bruised and beaten

Every night she drew symbols,
Images on the walls,
Horrific drawings

Everyone fell apart when she disappeared,
Though I know now that she left willingly,
She had written a final message:

“Ed sulam jun oui”

I understand the message now

And I will be prepared

As I wait,
The shadows fall,
But this is my house

Nothing comes here,
Without having to go through me

This is my house,
This is my home,
This is mine
