THE STOLEN DESSERTS

The gang of the We Always Catch Our Crooks Club, were hanging outside the Rocky Shores playground. Waiting for the morning bell to ring

"I can’t believe that it has been three weeks since our last case" Tommy Cub

"Well maybe all the bad guys in town decided to go on strike. When they heard how good we’re in catching them!" Sammy Turtle shrugged. Daisy Penguin was about to answer him back. When two kittens

walked up to them

"Hi! "We were looking for the We Always Catch Our Crooks Club" One of them asked

"That’s us! "How can we help you? Puppy asked

"My name is Lucky, and this is my friend Sally." "We heard from some of the other kids in school, that you guys were the best detectives in all of Rocky Shores." Lucky started to explain

"Right again; it’s been known that the cops will ask for our help." When they’re stuck on a case" Tommy proudly bragged

"They do? Wow! "That’s pretty cool Lucky smiled

"Sure, we help them all the time." "So what can we do for you guys? Tommy asked

"Someone is stealing our desserts from our lunch bags. "We’ve asked Miss Cake, if we could keep our lunch bags inside our desks." But she told us no cause she didn’t want her classroom stunk up by them" " You guys are our last hope beside going to the principal’s office." But nobody wants to do that without any real

proof" So what do you say will you help us out? Lucky asked. And after giving it some thought they all agreed to take on the case

The next day the gang started working on their lunch caper case. A few hours later Daisy and Vicky came running out towards the school yard. They were both yelling at top of their lungs

We know who did it!

"You do? "Who? Puppy asked

"It was the Weasel brothers! "A little while ago we spotted them coming out of Miss Cake’s classroom." "And they looked pretty suspicious if you asked us, so it has to be them! Daisy explained

"Great! But just cause they looked guilty doesn’t mean they are" "We need to set them up or something, to see if they really did it" Tommy answered

"Yah but what? Sammy added

" I think I know let’s go to my house and I’ll tell you all about it." Puppy suddenly cried out

Soon afterwards they were all gathered inside of Puppy’s kitchen

"Make sure you pour a lot of hot pepper and muster" Puppy told Vicky, who was pouring a box of cookie mix into a bowl

"I can’t wait to see their faces." "When they take a bite out of our homemade special cookies" She added laughing

"Yah, it’s going to be great! I’ve to give it to you Puppy, this is a great idea’ Tommy also laughed. A couple minutes later Puppy took the cookies out of the oven. And placed them on top of her kitchen counter

"Okay, whose going to be the brave one who tries one? She asked. No one volunteered

The gang had been very careful not to put anything into the cookie mix. That would make anyone sick, but they also made sure that it didn’t taste very good either

"Well someone should taste them" Puppy frowned

"Nah! ‘Why should we do it? We’ll just wait until tomorrow and see if it worked or not" Daisy answered.

Then after all agreeing they went into Puppy’s bedroom to play some video games

A couple minutes later they heard someone yelling. They quickly ran inside the kitchen and found Puppy’s mother leaning over the sink gulping water. There was no doubt that she had tasted the cookies

‘Puppy, who made those cookies? She muttered

"We did! How did you like them? Puppy proudly smiled

"Oh, I’m sorry sweetie. But those gotta be the worst cookies that I’ve ever tasted!"

"Aww! Mom that was the nicest thing you ever said"

The next day during lunch the gang hung round the halls and waited. A few minutes later they saw the Weasel brothers, run out of Miss Cake’s classroom and towards the rest room

"Stop right there! "We’re placing you under arrest!" Tommy cried out

"We, who? "Beat it kid! "Before, I pounded you into the ground! Andy growled. Then grabbed Tommy by the shirt and pushed him to the floor

"Hey! "You can’t treat him like that! We know that you’ve been stealing the desserts from’. Miss Cake’s classroom and we’re going to turn you in to the principal’s office! Puppy growled

"Listen kid nobody mess with us. And if we want to rip off their desserts, that’s exactly what we’re going to do." "And nobody’s going to stop us got it! Andy growled back. Then they ran off laughing before any of them could answer

"Well that went over great. "What are we going to do now? Sammy asked as he helped Tommy up to his feet

"Hey! I just thought of a way! Didn’t Lucky tell us that they had a class trip coming up?" Puppy told them

"Yah I think so why? Vicky asked

"So I was thinking that they should put their trip money inside their lunch bags" Puppy began explained. Everyone just looked at her as if she was crazy

"Are you kidding us? Why would they do something stupid like that?" Daisy frowned

"Because if they steal the money. Then we’d have enough proof to turn them in" Puppy answered

"That sounds like a great idea Puppy." "But you’re forgetting about one thing; how are we going to stop them long enough." "To see if they took the money or not" Vicky shrugged

"I figured that part out too. But let’s go find Lucky and Sally, we’re going to need their help." If we’re going to pull this off" Puppy answered her

Two days later

"Are you sure? That Lucky told everyone to put their money inside their lunch boxes? Puppy asked Daisy

"Yah, I talked to them before class they’re all set" She answered

"Okay, good now I guess now all we’ve to do is wait" Puppy smiled

They didn’t have to wait for long a few minutes later. The Weasel brothers came running out onto the playground

"Well, well if it ain’t the baby police! Andy laughed. "So who are you losers going to arrest today?

And before any could answer him. Puppy took out her whistle and blew the secret signal. Suddenly the playground was filled with angry looking kids. Both Andy and his brother Eddie with confused looks on their faces, slowly started to back away

But Daisy quickly blocked their way

"Hey! Get out of the way! Eddie snapped. He went to push her out of the way but Daisy moved out his way and fell on his face

"Let’s cream them! One of the kids yelled out

"No, wait! Puppy cried out

"Why shouldn’t we cream them? They’ve been ripping us off for weeks? Another kid added

"Because if we do then we’ll be just like them." And besides we’ve all the proof ,we need to take over to the principal’s office" Puppy answered. "I’m sure after

she gets through with them." They’d wish that you creamed them instead dealing with her! She added laughing

A few minutes later they all walked inside the principal’s office

"Excuse me? Where do you think you kids are going? Her secretary frowned

"To see Miss Flowers, and let her know that. "The We Always Catch Our Crooks Club, just captured the dessert caper" Puppy proudly smiled

The who? Did what?

"Listen kids, Miss Flowers is very busy now." "She’s in a very important meeting and--."

Hey! "I told you that you can’t go in there!

But it was too late Tommy busted through the principal’s office followed by the others. All of them talking at the same time

"What’s the meaning of this! "I hope that you kids can explain, why you busted in here. Like this? Miss Flowers cried out

Puppy poked her paw into Andy’s ribs and barked

Tell her!

Andy just broke down and confessed the whole thing. When he finished Miss Flowers, walked over towards her desk. And picked up her phone

"Are you calling our parents? Eddie asked mumbling

"That’s right young man! You and your brother are in some serious trouble" Miss Flowers frowned

"Umm Miss. Flowers wait" Puppy interrupted

Yes Puppy? What is it?

"I was thinking if you just call them and let them know what happen that’s not really going to solve anything" Puppy shrugged

"What do you suggest I do then? I can’t have students just stealing from others without any sort of punishment" Miss Flowers frowned

"I agree. But what if they pay them and you back"" Puppy began

How?

"By staying after school for a week and cleaning up Miss Cake’s classroom. "And on top of that they’d have to pay each kid a dollar a day. That way they’ll hopefully learn that if you steal something, sooner or later you’ll have to pay for it. Puppy explained

"That’s a very good idea Puppy thank you. Miss Flowers smiled. "But sorry boys, I still have to call your parents and let them know what happened" And let this be the last time you two boys are in my office again. "Because the next bit of trouble I’ll throw you out understood? She added

"Don’t worry Miss Flowers, we’ll keep an eye on them" Tommy smiled

Once they were outside Puppy walked up towards the Weasel brothers and warned them

"You two better have meant that you were going to stay out of trouble from now on. Cause if you dare to do anything dumb like this again." You’ll wish that I never helped you out got it?

"We promise Puppy, trust us we learned our lesson." Eddie answered her

"Yah we’re in enough trouble as it’s and we definitely don’t want any more trouble." Especially from you and the rest of the We Always Catch Our Crooks Club! Andy added
