Contrast

Contrast

A Poem by Jonathan Bryant Dean
"

A fictional poem, but it reflects the feelins that I have had in the past.

"

His hands hard feathers
Whisped on babies' breath.
Her heart soft concrete
Down on which he found death.

With which he this witch
Used no profanity,
Was the same witch, which
Caused his insanity.

She a cheating wife
For he she's to die for.
He feel so much strife
Now he cannot live more.

Her heart is as pure
As the muddy river.
his brain is obscure
Mingled with his liver.

who could've thought it
The young man has bought it
Leaping from a ledge
Over his brides false pledge.

So his soft hands meet
Her hard heart concrete
Female eyes icy breath
Man's bleeding heart in death.

This story at last
Is a tale of contrast.
A woman and a man
That should have had a plan.

Perhaps, the title is describing each of the persona: One is infidel while the other is faithful. True enough, we do have experiences in life wherein the burden is as heavy as that of a bad marriage. Nice one.

His hands, hard feathers, her heart, soft concrete. I loved those lines. Though a tragic story, these lines held my vision. Thank you for sharing. ~Pamela

Interesting..The last stanza..I am not sure they should have had a plan..I think perhaps he should have run faster than hell in the other direction..LOL!
Great meter and rhyme..and a great piece to read..pulled me right in.

I like this stanza. There seems to be a contradiction in your first stanza where his hands have hard feathers (nice image) but then "whisp on babie's breath." I can't quite get a visual on that line.
