Blue

Blue

A Poem by Lola Junebug
"

My first love poem - true story, but I was only 13 and very much in love.

"
Your eyes are so clear,

the bluest of blue.
I pat down my hair,
no clue what to do.

You notice me and beam,
you were always so kind.
I hold back a scream,
I have misplaced my mind.

My now-empty head
leaves me staring at you.
But you take it in stride,
you would never be rude.

You ask where I'm from,
your tone is sincere.
I cover my cheeks; my blushing?
Severe.

I bite my tongue hard
and cry out in pain.
You are now concerned "
my heart tries to escape.

I realize then that I have
blown my chance.
It could only worsen if I
spin on my head and dance.

My panic is flaring,
I know what I must do.
I laugh nervously and shuffle my feet,
preparing to bid you adieu.

I check my shoelaces,
make sure they are tied.
Then take one last look
at your beautiful eyes.

The final blow comes
when you offer me a hug.
I smile by biggest,
and then I turn and I run.

It is actually very difficult to say even a single word in front of crushes and sometimes this is what makes things worse.. feelings here are just beautifully described and the situation actually seems to be a real one. The way ones heart rate is increased and blushing and nervousness and all that... Just a lovely one...
