self destruction

self destruction

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

on the path to self destruction
there is no other way to go
i see two roads ahead
one green
one white
one black
yes thats three
i hear you say
yes they were
blinded by my tears
my fears
my years
my pain
its in the do not rewind
never to see again
path of self destruction
save me from this path
make me whole again
i just want to laugh and smile
but the path to self
destruction
its one i know too well
make the same mistakes
cry the same tears
look in the mirror and loathe again
on that path
that lonely path
of destruction
and insanity

Yes, I'm very familiar with this path. I love the way you say "two paths" . . . then you describe three, then you call out exactly what the reader must be thinking (correctly). This is the best bit of interactive writing I've ever seen here at the Café! Great idea & one that needs to be emulated often! *wink! wink!* Overall, your poem describes the curse clearly, along with a good balance of uplifting thoughts too (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I am always fascinated by people who make actions against them self. Like they cannot help them self they know it's gonna hurt them but they do it anyway. Like people on the drugs or people who often take risk without thinking. You write there self destruction save you from fears and pain. I find it quiet strong cause anybody can bring own meaning for this. I find my self destruction not so dangerous they are more like obession floating at my head sometimes I grab them and sometimes dont. Am I lucky one ?
