Yes, maybe, yes.

Yes, maybe, yes.

A Poem by just_teague
"

"So I guess I'm just asking if you'd like some wine for tonight."

"
Dear diary

--it was nice to hear a friendly voice.

It was nice to laugh in the kitchen
when you crossed your eyes accidentally.

Cashmere, argyle, fine, yes.
But I love that shirt you're wearing today--
the crisp white one.

Your hair sticks up when you run your hand through it.
I bury this smile in pragmatism and sobriety...
even though...
you look ridiculous!

Does the wine keep me warm?
Or is it your foot wrapped around the base of the table?

Does the cold make me shake?

I kept a diary when i was much younger but finally i couldn't keep up. Everything
was happening. And then the avulse or the tearing away the act of writing down vrs.
the actions of the man. I am much stronger now which means I am far
more vigilant in my self observations.

I like (I love) the diarys you speak out loud to. Words said aloud makes them
always, continually, ever. (love that will aye endure, W.S. Gilbert). You are so
good.

"Does the wine keep me warm?
Does the cold make me shake?

These were just the obvious questions. What about the questions of wonder and
laughter/ what about the questions of vulnerability?

I obviously was not ready for this until today. I apologize for my truancy..I love the splitting of the two questions Dana alluded to..it confirms all my epiphanies about feet before I can even envision them.

this piece kind of reminds me of something pulled from Huxley's secret stash of poetry

there's something hauntingly universal about this piece..if I could write like this, I'd def keep a journal...maybe one day

damn fine work, like a sewing project distracted by an art needle and transformed, as much as utilitarian, or dare I say, more so...

splendid...the mastery of poetry is making words say something other that what the words say...you've got it well in hand

Thank you for plunging every day into the deep , making my mind take point and plow a path through the snow ,til I tire and another will step up.like horses moving out of the high caught in the early cold.

"I bury this smile in pragmatism and sobriety..."

~ if you don't know how amazing you are yet, you should revisit the above line you wrote... it could only have been written by an incredibly perceptive and sensitive human... and it's the sort of articulation that any reader could instantly embrace... i feel like telling you about all the smiles that i've bured in pragmatism and sobriety... what can i say... there are some people who would regard those smiles as a sign of certified madness... and some who would react violently... perhaps we live in a very polarized world... everyone is on tenterhooks... and we feel watched by hawks... and never feel free to be... but then there's poetry... and your poetry is definitely very liberating... so thank you for this post... i felt free to smile some of my buried smiles... and am happy those smiles of mine got a chance to breathe the fresh air you created for them with your words... ~ in short, this is remarkable work... :)
