Looking in the Mirror

Looking in the Mirror

A Poem by Kaelani

she did as she always does
she looked at her mirror
surprise to see such an ugly face
she had always thought herself
pretty and unique
kids only hated her for they were always jealous
but this time she looked she didnt see herself
only a sick girl filled with lies and guilt
regret spread across her face
haunting words and such disgrace

she started to cry inside
as she stared at the mirror
she was ugly this she knew

not the pretty face
she once knew
she now hated life
hated herself for all of this
punishment she endured caused only by herself
no longer was food aloud for her
she sliced her own skin too
and to forget it all she took pills to dull it all
she was alone and hated by all
no one envied her
she was a freakish girl who always wore long sleeves
she did her same routine
herself she didnt feed
she let herself bleed
but this time pills she didnt need
she took the razor across her thin skin
let it slice her one more time
it struck the vein
this was on purpose
she wrote a note saying this was her wish
her own cruel punishment
she could never make it all just go away
and face the day
like she was a normal girl no she was fat and gross
the last words on the note had wrote
i tend to hurt myself escaping today never to meet this world again i finally know this is the end.
