"I Apologize"

"I Apologize"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

I have to apologize to you for Everyone God.

For we have taken this once beautiful world you gave us, and we have destroyed it.

You set it up, so perfectly for us, then we treated it as if it were replaceable.

You closed your eyes for one minute.

And by the time that you had opened it again, the flames were around you in a chaotic disaster.

Did you know?

That we would do all of this.

If this Earth were one degree off, we would implode upon ourselves.

One centimeter off center, and gravity no longer exists.

You gave us the gift of senses, and you gave us nature to use them.

You gave us minds of our own; yet do not allow us to comprehend everything that you do.

You gave us the Ability to love, but sometimes not the Choice.

I don't think that you receive all of the  thanks that you should.

For all of this that you have given Us.

But we are just mortal beings, and therefore do not always realize what we are doing.

We see this Earth as a Right not a Privilege.

So I must be the first to say, I Apologize

Woah. This is a beautiful peice if I do say so myself. And we really do need to apologize and give the great Lord thanks. For all of these things you say are so true it hurts to think this way. We dont want to think of all the things we've done in hurting this planet we call home. Destruction and downfall are inevitable. All we need to do is open our eyes and see what this world can become if we all do the things we need to do. This is a fabulous write and I enjoyed reading this a lot. Absolutely wonderful.

yes i must agree here...God has given us so much and yet we dont see that...we need to realize if it wasnt for him we wouldnt be here...in fact the world and universe wouldnt be here...people need to treat everyone and thing with respect...and yet it is so hard to tell people that...for they dont want to listen

God has given us quite a bit. Not all of us are blessed with common sense. This piece speak volumes that we do need to change if we wish to have a planet to live on. It is a decision that needs to be made in unity... if we want to be able to survive and for our planet to flourish not only for us but for our future generations as well. An apology is a start one that should come from all of us. But actions are louder than all the ink that flows.. :) We have contributed to this mess.. now lets contribute and clean it up. :)

I think He hears you.
Interesting speculation from right to privelege; the fine line being a sort of taking for granted, hence the realization, and then the deep rooted apology.
I was talking to a friend yesterday about this same sort of thing; she said she hopes with the state of the world, people as a society, that God will "take us" all, look down upon us as we are destroying the earth (and selves, and each other) and say, "Okay. It's time. You're done!" before it gets to that breaking point.
