"Hit the Ground"

"Hit the Ground"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

As I walked in the door,
the bottle fell to the floor,
I just watched in horror,
As her life drained from her pores.

How?

My eyes watched in vain,
I felt the pain,
the room spins again,
my hands were chained.

When?

That one dreadful night,
will never leave my sight,
when the end took flight,
now the memories I fight.

Why?

Ran over to her,
checked the pulse to be sure,
the damage confirmed,
her life had been burned.

Gone...
