"Tears on this Jacket"

"Tears on this Jacket"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

The thought of us ending,
made me think of an eternity.
I realized that I truly didn't want us to ever end,
because what I went through with you,
is something I will never go through with another person.
The love I feel for you is too much to take,
and just the thought of not kissing you each morning,
talking to you each night,
calling you when I'm lonely,
and telling you how much I love you,
draws tears from my eyes.
Each one falls to my jacket,
with the inevitability of more to come.
I am insecure,
weak,
and you are the only leg left that keeps me standing.
I don't want to fall because I have such a
long...
      way...
           to go...
