A Letter to the Boy Who Told Me He Was Different

A Letter to the Boy Who Told Me He Was Different

A Story by Kassie Donaldson

Dear Boy,
After many memories, you showed me your real character; the person you really are deep down. The longer I sat there thinking, the more I began to resent you. You sat on the other end of the phone for hours and listened to the unspeakable things that have been done to me in my past. You told me you weren't like every other guy that has hurt me. You know how hurt I have been and exactly how deep those wounds still are. You did all these things, but the one thing you never did was understand me. You are just as clueless about me as a stranger is. I am stupid to have thought that you truly knew who I am. You knew that I was scared to let down my walls and you very well knew why. But, you still ended up treating me the way everyone else has. Today I am foolish. And today, you are untrustable.

Sincerely,
A Foolish Girl
