To my love

To my love

A Story by Katarzyna Slade

To my love,
Like a siren you call me and like the ship I crash
Like a god I worship you, you surround me like a rash.
Like an angel you guide me, I always look to you,
Like a candle you light the room, show me safe passage
And guide me through.
Just like you pure heart, my feelings are true.
I watch you from afar,
Loving you, admiring you
And not knowingly you've stolen my heart.
My feelings aren't illusions or a chemical imbalance,
They run deep, strong and heavy with valence.
And with innocence my heart follows you longingly
For I am the invisible girl, the one you never see.
I hide behind my smiles, secretly aching,
Over time, day by day,
My heart quietly, painfully breaking.
For I know you belong to another.
You kiss her sweetly and look at her the way I would wish,
And yet I tell these lies because she is a deserving lover.
I keep my thoughts at bay for you I endure this suffer.
I tell you untruths, for in her heart you belong,
And in return she own's you,
Like birds own the morning song.
Therefore I sit by idle, quiet never declaring my love,
For I know you receive from another, that your happy.
And for me, That's enough.
From the girl, you'll never know.
Take care, you'r secret love.

This is absolutely beautiful, so full of emotions! It is so hard to be able to love someone and let them be with another, this is a brilliant piece!

First off let me say "woohoo new word :)" After looking up what valence means I think it fits perfectly too.
Favorite line/s:

"And in return she own's you,
Like birds own the morning song."

So perfectly describes it all, I love that line.
The whole piece drips with emotion and I liked the way it flowed when I said it out loud.

Those secret love's are the secrets we want to shout out loud. But we can't. I like the way you told the story in this poem. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
