THE ABYSS

THE ABYSS

A Poem by THE DAY DREAMER

I am just a mere thought within
this abyss;
dawn may have descended,
yet I see nothing, but this caliginous
stillness.

Lend me your eyes,
and you shall see;
those broke malicious souls,
that lurk beneath.

Lend me your ears,
and you shall hear the cries of many;
Of those that walk  on fire, and sleep
on the bed of agony.

Lend me your eyes,
and you shall weep;
for those that relentlessly fray,
for their daily bread, and a good night's sleep.

Lend me your heart and you will feel,
Hatred;
for those that leave horrid memories,
and hurtful scars that never heals.
Love;
for those that offer redemption
for your sins,
embracing your soul for the truth
you hold from within.

Sorrow;
for not expressing the love you felt,
and for the promises ,you never did keep.
Regret;
for not bidding farewell, to those that
stayed awake, while you were soundly asleep.
