My Side Of Paradise

My Side Of Paradise

A Poem by Lee Rhodes

You see me staring at you
From the greener side of the grass,
And you wonder why I'm not wearing a smile.
Why there is no hint of glee in my eyes.
Why there is only a breath breathed full of lies.
And thats because its not better,
Its just the same.
You and I are more alike than it seems.
We just face the same problems through different eyes.
Fighting the same fears, thinking the same thoughts,
But its no different on my side of paradise.
