End of the Rainbow, End of the Light

I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense. It makes sense to me....

The end of the rainbow,

Is the end of the light.

The colors are gone,

And in comes the night.

 

The end of the rainbow,

Isn't where the gold lies.

It's the end of the light,

The end of the dreams.

The end of the sanity,

Where you break at the seams.

 

The end of the rainbow,

No one wishes to go.

The end of the light,

Where the scary things are.

 

No more colors,

No more light,

No more sun,

No more sight,

No more happiness.

The end of the rainbow,

Is the end of the light.

No more fairy tales will be skipping,

In bright lush grass.

The end of the rainbow,

Is the end of the light.

occasionally the mature poet you're destined to be shines through like a beacon in the night. The three or four poems prior to this one show a very talented teenaged poet that you are now, but it's poems like this one that show the poet you're yet going to become. Don't change though, for these teen years will be fleeting and soon enough you'll be writing of memories, moonglow and the light at the end of the rainbow.
