The Goodbye Lullaby

The Goodbye Lullaby

A Poem by that-little-green-monster
"

A lullaby I made up for a book when someone's mother is passing away. I gave up on the book but I modified the poem.

"
Please don't cry,
I hold you tight,
Please ignore the shouts of above.
Tonight,
I hold you.
Tonight,
I won't leave.
As long as we're together,
Now harm will come our way.
And together we'll stay.

Quiet your sobs,
Hush your wails,
Drift to sleep,
I'll always protect you.
Our time is shorter,
And you'll have to be warier,
But as long as we're together,
I'll protect you.

And though I won't be in sight,
I'll be in heart,
And as long as I'm there,
We'll be together.
