Inspired by the song "Maybe This Time."

I'm not perfect

I'm not a winner

I never win the brass ring

Nobody loves me

Nobody wants me

I'm just a loser

I can't make you happy

Nobody loves me

I'm not the type of girl

That boys trip over themselves to be with

I'm not pretty

I'm not clever

I don't know the perfect things to say

I'm not the girl

The one waiting for

A knight in shinning armor

Because if I do

I'd be waiting forever

Because nobody loves me

I'm not perfect

I'm not wonderful

I don't realize everything I'm supposed to say

I'm no mind reader

I'm no flirt

I'm not a typical girl

Because I can accept

This is a great poem we are all losers in our own ways and love tough at our age as well trying to grasp it you wont have to wait lomg for your knight he probbably is just waiting for the right time :)

i'm not a girl, but i know exactly what this feels like. These thoughts have always haunted me from a guy's perspective, but i promise you, i absolutely promise, what we believe is truth in the world sometimes isn't, especially when it concerns ourselves. optimism and pessimism aside, this is a great piece. Keep it up!

This poem really hits me hard because this is exactly what I have been losing sleep over for such a long time now. Everything said in that poem fits my thoughts and pain to a T. Thanks for writing this poem.

This is so sad. A skipping record like this runs in so many people's heads. I know I have felt this way, and learned to accept it. It's hard to learn the opposite once you've come to believe this inside yourself. A great perception piece. I wish you would have said "I've learned to except you" or something in the end instead. I would have added some anger to it that would be slightly redeeming. The speaker is most definitely a victim in this, which is ahrd for the reader to accept without some sign of hope.
