valentine

valentine

A Poem by Karen D Reeves
"

Inspired by a "rant" by Hell Bound Soul ["My Side"].

"
beyond the capacity for words
this seizure of the heart
i wonder at the difference

between love and obsession

or if it matters
or is it the object of desire

that renders one's existence
a heaven or a hell?

as mother holds child
the paradise in her arms
fading the memory of pain

we rise and return to the road
the dream of Eden beckoning
our steps forward

broken heart still beating
both curse and blessing

we are at once
undying fools
and heroes
