behead

behead

A Poem by FaeryQueen

“Those two naïve children are dead now”

.

Haunted by the ghosts of the present-day selves,

We only wanted to rejoice in the marriage of one another to the other,

But instead, were met with obligated rituals and mundane sacrifice,

.

“Those two naïve children are dead now”

Haunted by the blades that which we danced with that first night,

Never knowing when the other would sour or spoil,

.

“Those two naïve children are dead now”

Haunted by the makeshift realities that we indulged in,

While the other slowly wilted away into the gardens that we’ve grown together

.

Yes, indeed,

“Those two naïve children are dead now”

But in the end, it was you to behead me.
