what all hopeless romantics wish for

I want to believe you love you

I want to believe that I am everything you ever wanted in a girl

I want to believe that you were made for me

Out of all the people in this world

I want to believe that you’re honest

I want to believe that you’ll never lie

I want to believe that you’ll love me

And will never make me cry

I want to believe you are perfect

I want to believe everything you say

I want to confide in your promises

And that my trust you’ll never slap

I want to believe you are good

I want to believe that you won’t break my heart

I want to believe you’ll love me forever

Or until death do us part

But since this ain’t a fairytale

None of this will ever be true

I am a flawed human being

And surely you are too

We make mistakes

We hurt, we lie

We break up relationships

And say our goodbyes

We cheat, we deceive

We anger, we leave

We change, we scar

And we break hearts

Let the truth be told

Fairy tales ain’t true

So hopeless romantics

Remain with the blues

Because a perfect love

The one we pursue

Sad to say

Will never come true

Interesting take, definitely not what I expected from the title. It actually seemed rather sad by the end. As, myself a 'hopeless romantic' I don't necessarily agree. But, that's what I like about this. I agree love may never be easy and there are bumps in the road. Yet, I feel as a romantic you accept the flaws and love regardless. This is well written and I hope there is a perfect love for everyone.

I believe there is a love out there for everyone, I truly do. I think "the perfect love" is what we construe love to be, when it comes to us. And it really is a wonderful, heady, and euphoric feeling - like nothing you've ever known!

It's a wonderful poem, Kimberly, and you've written it from a point of view that we've all experienced. You might want to start calling yourself a "hopeful romantic"...for it will come to you...I'm certain of it!
