The Way Reprise

The Way Reprise

A Poem by Kelly
"

A different perspective on an old poem

"

He says he doesn’t like his body much

It’s something I’ve come to know

Yet something I don't understand

How does he not see?

The way his pale blue eyes shine

The way his lips curve when he smiles

The way his voice calls my name

The way he can care

The way his compassion emits light from miles away

He doesn’t seem to see

The way I care

The way I can’t help but to stare

The way I can’t let go

Hell, the way I love

It’s a damn shame

For it’s the way

The way I empathize

The way I know the pain

The way I understand
